DSO T-Shirt Contest Rules

 Let Your Art Be Seen (and earn prizes & bragging rights)!

The DSO Challenges Northeast Arkansas Students To Enter The DSO T-shirt Design Contest

Show off your awesome design talents by creating a one-of-a-kind T-shirt with a Delta Symphony Orchestra theme.  The winning design will appear on T-shirts sold at the DSO 2021-2022 Concerts and proceeds will be donated to the Delta Symphony Orchestra’s 2021-2022 Season.  If your clever, funny, or stylish design is the winner, you will also receive 4 free tickets to the DSO’s Christmas Concert and be featured in the concert program with your design. Enter by 1 November 2021.

 

ELIGIBILITY

  • A K-12 student   
  • 5 - 18 years of age
  • Must agree to the contest terms and conditions and submit entry form

 

T-SHIRT DESIGN REQUIREMENTS

  • Designs must relate to the Delta Symphony Orchestra’s 2021-2022 Season
  • Digital entries only
  • The design must be your own original, unpublished work and must not include any third-party logos or copyrighted material.  By entering the competition, you agree that your submission is your own work.
  • Use the following file name convention when uploading your design:  dsotshirtdesign_YourLastName_YourFirstName.(file extension)  e.g.  dsotshirtdesign_Potter_Harry.pdf

 

CONTEST ENTRY

  • Fill out and save the contest entry form
  • All entrants under 18 must have parent or guardian sign and agree to the copyright transfer included on the entry form. The DSO may use your design in future pamphlets, brochures, and informational booklets; at meetings, lectures, and workshops; in public presentations during meetings, concerts, and other events; in promotional and educational videos; and on websites maintained by DSO.

 

 SELECTION OF WINNERS

  • After closing date for submissions (1 November), up to five finalists will be selected for the T-shirt competition
  • T-shirt design finalists will be uploaded to an album on the DSO’s Facebook page.  The design with the most “Likes” at 23:59 CST on 20 November will be chosen as the winner.
  • Winner will be notified by 26 November

CONTEST TERMS AND CONDITIONS

DSO STUDENT T-SHIRT CONTEST

OVERVIEW

Our Aim:  To engage students and showcase their creativity.

Your Challenge:  Create a T-shirt design that highlights or showcases the DSO’s 2021-2022 Season.

ELIGIBILITY:  The DSO Student T-shirt Contest are open to entrants ages 5-18 who are current K-12 Students.  Entrants must complete an entry form for the contest. 

SPONSOR:  Delta Symphony Orchestra, PO Box 19117, Jonesboro, AR 72403 USA

AGREEMENT:  All participants must abide by the agreement of the entrant form with full agreement to the official rules and sponsor’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to this contest.  Winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.  All contest entries become the property of Delta Symphony Orchestra (the sponsor) and will not be returned.

SUBMISSION PERIOD:  Submission period begins on 15 September at 00:00 Central Standard Time (CST) and ends on 1 November at 23:59 (CST).  The Delta Symphony Orchestra is the official time keeper for the contest period.  Entry forms or submissions received prior to or after contest periods are void.

CONTEST RULES:  Contestants may not purchase “likes” on Facebook or solicit “likes” outside of the DSO community to promote their entry and compromise the contest. Purchasing or soliciting “likes” may result in an entry being disqualified.

The winner must follow all instructions of the Delta Symphony Orchestra.  If all related instructions are not adhered to, receipt of the prize may be forfeited, in whole or in part.  There are no limits to the number of entries per person.

Associated costs:  Winners are responsible for all transportation, gratuities, meals, trips, incidentals, applicable taxes, and any other associated expenses not specified above.

T-Shirt design:  All entries must be in good taste.  No rude or vulgar language, no insults directed at other disciplines, and no plagiarism. 

HOW TO ENTER:  During the contest period, fill out an entry form and submit it to the Delta Symphony Orchestra.

T-Shirt:  Submissions must relate to the DSO’s 2021-2021 Season.  Please provide digital entries only in .pdf, .jpg, .png, or .eps format (high resolution images are preferred).  The design must be your own original, unpublished work and must not include any third-party logos or copyrighted material.  By entering the competition, you agree that your submission is your own work.  Use the following file name convention when uploading your design:   dsotshirtdesign_YOURLASTNAME_YOURFIRSTNAME.(file extension)   e.g. dsotshirtdesign_Everdeen_Katniss.eps

SELECTION OF WINNER:

T-Shirt:  After closing date for submissions, DSO volunteer staff will review and select up to five finalists for the T-shirt competition.  T-shirt designs will be uploaded to an album on DSO’s Facebook page.  DSO’s Facebook audience will be instructed to vote for their top choice by “liking” the entry.  The design with the most “Likes” at 23:59 CST on 20 November will be chosen as the winner.

WINNER:  The Delta Symphony Orchestra will announce the winner of the DSO Student T-shirt Contest.  The T-shirt contest winner will be contacted via phone and/or email on or before 26 November.  If the winner does not respond within (5) days of the first contact attempt, he or she will be disqualified, and an alternative entrant will be selected for the grand prize.  All decisions by the judges are FINAL in all matters relating to this contest.

PRIZE:  To be eligible to win, all T-shirt entries must be received by 01 November 2021 at 23:59 (CST).  There will only be one (1) recipient of the prize for the DSO T-shirt Design Contest.  The prize consists of:

4 free tickets for the DSO Christmas Concert, picture of student with the winning design in the DSO Program, website recognition, and a free t-shirt with your design.

The Grand Prize, as described, may not be exchanged for cash.  It is transferable (to another student) but nonrefundable.

PRIVACY:  Contact information will not be passed on to any other companies without your expressed permission.

GENERAL CONDITIONS:  All contest entries become the property of the Delta Symphony Orchestra.  All contest entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they do not follow the criterion provided; or if they are forged, falsified, altered or interfered within any way.  By entering the contest, all entrants consent to the use of their image or video in any future form(s) of publicity of the Delta Symphony Orchestra, without further notice or compensation. By participating in this contest, entrants acknowledge compliance with, and agree to be bounded by, all Contest Terms, Conditions, Rules and Regulations, including eligibility requirements.

All Entrants release and hold harmless the Delta Symphony Orchestra (DSO), from and against any and all manner of action, causes of action, suits, debts, covenants, contracts, claims and demands, including legal fees and expenses, whatsoever, including but not limited to, claims based on negligence, breach of contract and fundamental breach and liability for physical injury, death, or property damage which the entrants or his/her administrators, heirs, successors or assigns might have or could have, by reason of or arising out of the entrant’s participation in the contest and/or in connection with the acceptance and/or exercise by the entrant of the Grand Prize awarded.
